Event Detail
The 20th Pink Ribbon Online Walk and Run in Saitama is a free breast cancer awareness challenge coordinated through Toda Medicalcare Group and the Saitama Pink Ribbon campaign. Participants exercise on routes of their own choosing across Japan, rather than travelling to a shared start line. It is not a competition for speed, ranking or the greatest distance.
Completing the challenge
Choose one target only: 5 km or 42.195 km. Build the total through multiple walks and runs during October; a continuous marathon is not required. The organiser also accepts TATTA activities labelled Hiking and Trail Run, alongside Walking and Running. Cycling does not count, and manually entered distances are generally not accepted.
Register using your own RUNNET account and link the same account to TATTA. Confirm that the challenge appears under the app's events before relying on it to record your progress. Set up any compatible GPS-watch connection beforehand and synchronise activity within the event period. Activities crossing the start or end date of the challenge are excluded. Check the app's privacy settings, particularly the visibility of activity maps and personal details.
Registration and eligibility
The event is restricted to residents of Japan, with no published age limit. A compatible smartphone and individual registration are required. The advertised capacity is 3,000 across the two categories, with 1,500 places in each.
As checked on 16 October, RUNNET still displays an entry option for 5 km, with a scheduled deadline of 25 October at 23:59 Japan time, subject to capacity. The 42.195 km page already displays entries closed. Its distance remains listed for existing participants, not as an available new entry. Both categories share the activity deadline of 31 October.
Awareness activities and participant information
The accompanying GPS-route drawing and photo competitions have their own application rules. Their prizes are not automatic rewards for completing the distance. The organiser warns about imitation social accounts; use the official campaign website and its linked registration pages.
No participant insurance or physical race-day services are included. The app provides a completion certificate, including for walkers, even though the standard certificate wording refers to finishing a run.
Race Pack Information
Digital finisher gifts are advertised for email delivery from November 2026 onwards. TATTA provides the completion certificate. Draw prizes are sent separately by the relevant sponsor or office to the registered Japanese address. No race-pack collection, physical shirt or medal is advertised. Allocation-limited benefits must be confirmed.
