Event Detail

The 31st Angkor Wat International Half Marathon returns on Sunday 6 December 2026, with the start and finish in front of Angkor Wat temple, Siem Reap. Established in 1996, this AIMS-sanctioned charity race supports survivors of landmines, including programmes for prosthetic limbs, community reintegration and education, as well as assistance for Cambodian children. Four distances, 21K, 10K, 5K and 3K, take runners through the World Heritage archaeological landscape.

Race morning and course

  • Arrive by 04:30 Cambodia time. The opening ceremony begins at 05:00, before the first race starts.
  • The organiser-linked Cambodian registration instructions list a 05:45 half-marathon start (including a wheelchair category), followed by 5K at 06:10, 3K at 06:25 and 10K at 06:40. Some international registration listings show a slightly different half-marathon time; follow the final organiser race-day notice.
  • Published completion limits are four hours for 21K, two hours for 10K, 60 minutes for 5K and 45 minutes for 3K.
  • The course is generally flat, with tree-lined roads, views of approximately 14 historic temples and refreshment stations every 2 km, offering water and electrolyte drinks; some stations also provide bananas. The organiser warns that the 2026 course map may change before race-pack collection.
  • The start area is approximately 6 km from central Siem Reap, so arrange a tuk-tuk or other early-morning transport before race day.

Entry conditions and temple access

REGISTRATION CLOSED as of 24 October 2026. The organiser's published deadline was Friday 23 October 2026. Its official Cambodian registration partner shows the event as closed and states that online registration, late on-site entry and race-day entry will not be accepted. That partner specified 23:59 Cambodia time for online applications, versus 17:00 for in-person/FIT entry. International runners had been directed to World's Marathons; Cambodian residents and local expatriates to Checkpoint Spot. The previously advertised entry prices are retained below for reference, not as evidence that places are currently available. Fees varied by distance and residency, with handling fees and VAT extra. Verify any exceptional arrangement directly with the organiser rather than relying on an old ticket button.

Entries are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another runner or another edition. A distance change must meet the organiser's conditions and involves a USD 20 administration fee, plus any additional entry-price difference.

Race-pack collection and participant guidance

The organiser confirms collection at Angkor Century Resort and Spa, Siem Reap, 3–4 December (09:00–18:00) and 5 December (09:00–20:00). Bring your entry confirmation and photo identification. Authorised proxy collection requires supporting documents; guardians must complete the appropriate waiver for children. There is no race-day collection.

An official runner ID permits course inspection in the Angkor area on 3–5 December, but does not provide admission inside the temples; sightseeing within the monuments requires a separate Angkor admission ticket. The organiser asks everyone to follow the final route, bib-timing and safety instructions.

See the official 2026 organiser event page and organiser-linked local registration guidance for current-edition notices.
