Chongqing Changjiahui Half Marathon 2026

The 2026 Chongqing (Changjiahui) Half Marathon is a major 16,000-runner city race along the Yangtze River, distinct from Chongqing's January full marathon and the separate December half marathon in Banan District. Its relatively flat 21.0975 km road course gives runners an unusual chance to race for a personal best against the spectacular skyline of a city famous for its steep hills.

Course

The official route starts at Haitang Yanyu Park on Nanbin Road, runs beneath Chaotianmen Bridge, turns around near the Dafosi bus stop and returns past the park. Runners continue under the Yangtze River and Caiyuanba bridges, turn at Tongyuan Branch Road, then finish at Haitang Yanyu Park. This route combines waterfront running with views of the Yangtze/Jialing confluence and Chongqing's historic and modern architecture. Chip timing records net times, with mats on course and at the turnarounds.

Race-day logistics

The scheduled first gun is at 7:30 am on Sunday 1 November 2026. Participants should arrive from 6:30 am to enter their assigned starting corrals. Baggage storage closes at 7:10 am. The official three-hour cut-off is measured from the last starting gun, with intermediate limits at 5, 10, 15 and 20 km. Water, refreshments and medical support are positioned along the route, with dedicated energy stations at 10, 15 and 20 km.

Before race day

Public pre-registration closed on 22 July 2026 and a ballot was scheduled for 30 July. The official entry fee was CNY 200. Applicants must be at least 18 and have two qualifying finishes of 10 km or longer in the specified preceding period. Race-pack collection is at Jiangnan Sports Centre, Nan'an District, 30–31 October, 9:00 am–8:00 pm. Collection is in person with the original registration identity document; there is no race-day pick-up.

There are separate men's and women's top-eight prizes. The leading 500 finishers of each sex qualify for a paid entry exempt from the ballot for the 2027 Chongqing Marathon. Runners should consult the current official rules for any late corral, road closure or collection updates.
