Fangchenggang Marathon 2026 - Guangxi, China

The 2026 Fangchenggang Marathon (2026防城港马拉松) takes place on Sunday 22 November 2026 in Fangchenggang, Guangxi, near China's border with Vietnam. Previously known as the China-ASEAN Marathon (中国—东盟马拉松), the established international road race has officially adopted the host city's name for its 2026 edition. The race retains its World Athletics Label status; note that the current World Athletics competition calendar still lists the race under its former China-Asean Marathon name.

Racing beside the Beibu Gulf

The event's officially announced start and finish are at Beibu Gulf Ocean Culture Park (北部湾海洋文化公园) in Fangchenggang's Gangkou District. Organisers promote coastal scenery and the city's mix of harbours, mountains, fishing culture and China-ASEAN connections. This is a large competitive road race, not a trail race. Current-edition organisers emphasise an ocean-view course and a relatively level half-marathon, but entrants should use the definitive 2026 route map, road closures and runner handbook for exact turn-by-turn course information and elevation details. The map pin approximates the park area rather than a surveyed start line.

2026 race programme

Both races begin at the announced 07:30 China Standard Time (UTC+8) on 22 November. The official field limit is 22,000 runners:

• Full marathon (42.195 km): 6,500 places.
• Half marathon (21.0975 km): 15,500 places.

Runners could apply for only one category. Unlike older China-ASEAN Marathon listings, the 2026 announced programme contains only the marathon and half marathon, so past 10K and 5K results should not be copied into this year's listing. The fee for either distance was CNY 120.

Applications and ballot: registration closed

Applications opened at 15:00 on 14 September 2026 and closed at 16:00 on 14 October 2026 (China Standard Time), according to the published 2026 regulations and event announcements. A ballot was scheduled for 20 October at 16:00, with unsuccessful applicants entitled to a refund. This closed application window is not proof that every successfully balloted runner has completed payment, and entrants should consult their own official acceptance notices. Registration was offered through the 中国东盟马拉松 official WeChat account, the 汇赛通 WeChat mini-program and the 数字心动 app. No reliable publicly accessible 2026 registration URL has been verified, so one is not invented here.

Eligibility and race week

The organiser's entry rules specify a minimum age of 20 for the marathon and 18 for the half marathon. Health declarations, fitness and qualification conditions may apply; international travellers should check identity-document and local payment requirements directly with the organiser. Exact 2026 race-pack pickup location, opening hours, cut-off times, mandatory equipment, prize details and finisher pack contents have not been independently confirmed. Refer to final organiser-issued WeChat announcements and official competition regulations rather than older-edition posters or third-party estimates. No confirmed postponement or cancellation was found in the current-edition information checked on 24 October.

Sources and naming

The edition announcement and FAQ were issued under the official 中国东盟马拉松 account and reproduced in current Chinese local-media releases. The programme, venue, entry dates, prices and new name are also documented in current Chinese race-calendar materials. Avoid confusing this event with other marathons in the Guangxi region.
