Event Detail
Qiandao Lake Marathon 2026 takes place on Sunday 29 November in Chun'an County, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, with a 07:30 start at Xiushui Square (China Standard Time, UTC+8). The established destination race, first staged in 2015, has a 15,000-runner field: 4,000 places for the 42.195 km marathon and 11,000 for the 21.0975 km half marathon. Both categories have the same advertised standard entry price of CNY 200.
What's new for 2026
The organiser's current-edition announcement describes a substantially redesigned lakeside course entering the north-eastern Qiandao Lake district for the first time. The expanded lake-view section is said to account for more than half of the marathon route. Described highlights include Jinxian Bay Bridge, landscaped waterfront areas, a tunnel art museum and the North-east Lake District visitor area. These are promotional course highlights; entrants should rely on the organiser's final route maps and race briefing for actual junctions, aid stations and road restrictions.
Local race-week programming is expected to include food, cultural-heritage and music activities around the lake. The 2026 promotion also advertises access to the core Qiandao Lake scenic area using the race bib; entrants should check the exact dates and access conditions with the organiser.
Registration status and eligibility
Ordinary 2026 registration is closed. Applications opened on 26 August at 10:00 and ended on 10 October at 10:00 local time, or earlier when places were filled. The organiser's booking page currently marks both the marathon and half marathon as closed. Entry was first-come, first-served rather than ballot-based. The marathon requires qualifying race experience (one marathon or two half marathons in the previous 24 months); the half marathon requires evidence of two road races of at least 10 km. Runners should check the precise accepted evidence and any exceptions in the race regulations.
Race-week preparations
The 2026 competition has been advertised as seeking Chinese Athletics Association Class A certification, not as already certified. Detailed race-pack collection hours and venue, the final route maps, category cut-off times and prize conditions were not independently verified in the current official information reviewed on 25 October. These details should not be inferred from an earlier edition. Confirm all arrangements with the organising committee before travelling.
The organising committee lists HiRun Sports (嗨跑体育) as its public contact channel. Its published customer-service hours are 09:00–12:00 and 13:00–18:00 on working days (China time). Use the official 2026 entry and event page for registration status and the HiRun Sports website for organiser announcements.
