Event Detail

The fifth SUUNTO SPARK RUN returns to Sai Kung on Sunday 1 November 2026, this time on the hilly Devil's Course road routes rather than the previous trail-race programme. Registration for both individual races and the ROCKIT relay is marked CLOSED on the organiser's official event homepage, checked 24 October 2026. The organiser has not provided a verified exact closing date; check its website for any late changes.

Course and wave arrangements

The individual races start at Pak Tam Chung PHAB Site and finish at the junction of Man Yee Road and Man Yee Au. The advertised 'half marathon' measures approximately 21.6km rather than the standard 21.0975km, with about 713m of ascent and a 3-hour cut-off. The 10km road race gains approximately 333m (2-hour cut-off), while the 5km gains approximately 169m (1-hour cut-off). The official race descriptions show outbound-and-return routes along the High Island Reservoir roads. All distances and climbing figures are estimates published by the organiser.

The ROCKIT 10km charity relay has its start, handover and finish at Man Yee Au, not the individual-race start. Teams of 2–4 complete four legs of roughly 2.5km, with each runner completing at least one leg. Each relay entrant contributes HK$200 of their HK$428 fee to two named Hong Kong charities. Its time limit is 1 hour 30 minutes.

Essential race-week instructions

The minimum age is 16 on race day, with guardian consent required for under-18s. Bib, timing-chip and race-pack collection must be completed before race day at the place and time specified in each runner's collection email; the organiser states that no race-day or late collection is available. Its general information page previously anticipated distribution in mid-to-late October but did not provide a confirmed public collection venue/time, so participants should rely on their direct collection instructions.

Free race-day shuttles operate for previously registered riders from designated Hong Kong locations to the Pak Tam Chung area; places and pick-up points cannot be added or changed after entry. The organiser also provides transport for relay runners from Pak Tam Chung to Man Yee Au. Consult the official transport information for route-specific early departure times and road closures.

Finishers within the rules receive a special High Island Reservoir Dolos-themed medal and electronic finisher certificate. The official site warns that a tropical cyclone warning signal No. 3 or above, or a red/black rainstorm warning, may force cancellation or termination. Review the official regulations, race homepage and organisers' latest updates before travelling. This is a road event; older Spark Run trail and iTRA/UTMB information does not describe these 2026 races.
