UNICEF Charity Run 2026/27 - HERO RUN PoweRun

HERO RUN - PoweRun is the competitive road-racing day of the UNICEF Charity Run 2026/27, organised by the Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF on Sunday, 3 January 2027. The event brings runners to the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort area to support children's wellbeing and future opportunities, under the campaign theme Better Childhood, Better Future.

The race programme

PoweRun offers a half marathon, two separate 10K waves (Challenge and Group 1), a 5K and a 3K Youth race. The half marathon starts at 5:45 am Hong Kong time, followed by the 10K Challenge at 7:30 am, 10K Group 1 at 7:35 am, 3K Youth at 7:55 am and 5K at 8:15 am. These are the advertised category gun times; participants should consult the organiser's final race-day instructions for reporting times and any wave adjustments.

The event is recognised by the Hong Kong, China Association of Athletics Affiliates (HKAAA). The half-marathon and 10K Challenge courses carry AIMS certification; this should not be taken to mean that every distance or wave has that separate certification. The Disneyland Resort and Inspiration Lake surroundings are part of the advertised setting, but participants should follow the current official maps rather than assume the course follows a previous edition.

Entries and supporting children

The published minimum charity donation amounts are HK$600 for the half marathon, HK$550 for either 10K wave, HK$500 for the 5K and HK$400 for 3K Youth. These are fundraising entry minima, not a guarantee of extra merchandise or a standard commercial race fee. The announced PoweRun enrolment deadline is 15 November 2026; places remain subject to organiser capacity and any earlier sell-out.

Runner's Pack and after the event

UNICEF schedules Runner's Pack collection for 17–20 December 2026 and says collection instructions will be emailed on 11 December. The organiser has not yet confirmed the pickup venue or daily operating hours in the verified current-edition notices, so entrants should follow that email rather than guess a collection time or address. Electronic certificates and official results are expected by email in February 2027, with donor receipts scheduled for March.
