SBI Kochi Navy Half Marathon 2026

SBI Kochi Navy Half Marathon 2026 is the seventh edition of the Southern Naval Command’s major public road-running event in Kochi. Organisers expect around 10,000 runners after roughly 7,000 took part in the previous edition. The 2026 race is advertised as World Athletics accredited and combines a competitive half marathon and timed 10K with a 5K fun run, giving both experienced runners and recreational participants a place in the programme.

All three distances are scheduled for Sunday, 13 December. The published race-day timetable is provisional: the 21.1K is due to flag off at 04:30 IST, the 10K at 05:30 and the 5K at 07:15. Corresponding reporting times are 04:00, 05:00 and 06:45. Cut-offs are 3 hours 30 minutes for the half marathon, 1 hour 30 minutes for the 10K and one hour for the 5K. The half marathon is open from age 18, the 10K from 14, while younger participants in the 5K must follow the organiser’s guardian requirements.

The route uses fully closed roads across International Container Terminal Road, with Kochi’s backwaters visible for much of the course. Runners start at the Grand Hyatt Convention Center and finish at Bolgatty Palace Ground, where the recovery and celebration area will include medals, breakfast and physiotherapy services for eligible categories. The detailed route map is still due to be released.

Standard published entry fees are INR 1,600 for the 21.1K, INR 1,200 for the 10K and INR 800 for the 5K. Entries include a race T-shirt, bib, race kit bag, finisher medal, hydration and medical support, tagged photos, live breakfast and warm-up activities. The timed 21.1K and 10K also include a timing chip, e-certificate and post-run physiotherapy. The official site advertises more than INR 16 lakh in cash prizes, including age-category awards, with detailed prize rules still to come.

Race kits must be collected in person at the pre-race Bib Expo, but the 2026 expo dates and venue have not yet been announced. Runners should also watch the official site for confirmation of the provisional start times, detailed route, pacers and final transport instructions. Private parking is limited, so the organiser recommends car-pooling or taxi use where practical.

Registration updates and participant rules (verified 24 October 2026)

The organiser's live 2026 website currently states that registration is open. Its early-bird offer runs through 31 October 2026, with advertised prices of ₹1,300 for 21.1K, ₹1,000 for 10K, and ₹620 for 5K, compared with the standard ₹1,600, ₹1,200 and ₹800 respectively. Category-specific defence-personnel, student, senior, family and larger-group rates are also listed, subject to eligibility and identification rules. These prices are advertised offers, not confirmation of an available place at checkout.

No race-day or offline registration is permitted. The organiser says entries cannot be transferred to another person and registration fees are non-refundable after payment. Requests to change category had earlier deadlines: 10 October 2026 for downgrades (without refunds) and 18 October for upgrades (subject to available places and paying any difference). Both dates have passed. Runners should confirm current availability directly with the event website.

Venue distinction: all categories start at Grand Hyatt Convention Center, but the finish is Bolgatty Palace Ground, a different location. ARC's finish map pin is an approximate locator around Bolgatty Palace, not a verified finish-arch coordinate. No published 2026 Bib Expo dates or venue have yet been found; the organiser requires registration confirmation plus government photo ID, and where applicable a service ID or authorised-collector documents.
