Tata Mumbai Marathon 2027

Tata Mumbai Marathon 2027 is the 22nd edition of Mumbai's flagship road-race festival and a World Athletics Gold Label event promoted by Procam International. First staged in 2004, it has grown into one of India's most important mass-participation sporting events, combining elite competition with large amateur fields, inclusive race categories and a major philanthropy programme.

Race day is Sunday, 17 January 2027. The on-ground programme includes the 42.195K Marathon, 21.097K Half Marathon, Open 10K, 5.9K Dream Run, 4.2K Senior Citizens' Run and 1.3K Champions With Disability category, alongside an elite marathon field. ARC can map the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 4.2K distances structurally; the 5.9K and 1.3K categories are noted here because the current ARC distance list does not expose exact matching options.

For marathon runners, official 2027 start waves begin from 5:00am and the marathon start line closes at 5:30am. The organiser has confirmed Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus as the event flag-off location, while the current participant pages still show the detailed 2027 course, finish points and several category start times as pending. Runners should therefore use the live event site for the final route and race-day movement plan rather than relying on older-edition maps.

The Marathon and Half Marathon use performance-based confirmation criteria and timing certificates, with faster submitted performances also used for start-wave allocation. Open 10K access is strongly tied to the event's charity-bib programme, with limited special-category places. Registration windows differ by race category, so there is no single reliable event-wide closing date; the live registration portal is the authoritative check for remaining places.

Bib collection is scheduled at the PLAYSCAPE Tata Mumbai Marathon 2027 Expo from 14 to 16 January, using pre-booked collection slots. Marathon, Half Marathon and Open 10K runners are expected to collect their bibs personally with confirmation and government photo ID, subject to the organiser's representative rules for unavoidable circumstances. A runner bag is included, and an optional race-day baggage service is available to the timed categories with a refundable INR 500 baggage-tag deposit.

TMM is also a major fundraising platform. United Way Mumbai is the philanthropy partner, and runners can support participating NGOs or opt into the Green Bib agro-forest initiative. The 2027 event carries an announced total prize purse of USD 389,524.

Important 2027 registration windows and pricing check (updated 23 October 2026)

There is no single event-wide registration deadline because entry windows vary by category. The official organiser's current information states:

• Half marathon: general applications closed 18 August 2026 at 23:59 IST, or sooner if full.
• Open 10K special-criteria places: the published one-day general application window was 11 August 2026, with the charity-bib route administered separately. The published INR 2,100 domestic base fee for the special-criteria 10K is listed by Procam plus one Green Bib contribution of INR 651; allow for that additional charge when comparing ticket costs.
• Marathon: the detailed current-category FAQ and registration page give 5 November 2026 at 23:59 IST, while the organiser's broader launch press release gives 8 November 2026. Because those official notices conflict, entrants should act by the earlier 5 November date and confirm any extension directly on the booking portal. No premature event-wide closure has been set.
• Dream Run (5.9K): the organiser's 2027 Dream Run registration-dates page currently lists general individual registrations as 8–13 September 2026 (CLOSED), with separate Youth (18–21), Good for Silver (65+) and overseas application categories advertised through 30 November 2026, subject to available places. Its July launch announcement instead advertises 27 October–2 November 2026 for individuals. These two official sources conflict; check the live Procam portal for the available 2027 category before payment, and do not assume standard individual registrations are open.
• Senior Citizens' Run (4.2K) and Champions with Disability (1.3K): published general deadline 5 November 2026 at 23:59 IST, or sooner if capacity is reached.
