Bank Jateng Borobudur Marathon 2026

The tenth Bank Jateng Borobudur Marathon takes place on Sunday, 15 November 2026 in Magelang, Central Java, with the spectacular landscape around Borobudur Temple providing the setting for one of Indonesia's leading distance-running weekends. All three races start and finish at the Lumbini Park Complex near the temple. Organisers celebrate the event's decade-long legacy in this anniversary edition.

Courses and race limits

The officially announced programme comprises a 42.195 km marathon, a 21.0975 km half marathon and a 10 km road race. The organiser's stated cut-off limits are:

• Marathon: 6 hours 30 minutes.
• Half marathon: 3 hours 40 minutes.
• 10K: 2 hours.

The organiser may enforce additional intermediate cut-off points. Runners missing these checkpoints can be withdrawn and will not qualify for finisher entitlements. Race-specific route maps and flag-off times must be checked in the final edition guidance. The current ARC 04:00 WIB event time is provisional; the official website has not yet confirmed individual start times.

Getting to the start

The race village is scheduled to open at 03:15 WIB and operate until noon, subject to race-day changes. The organiser identifies Kampung Seni Borobudur as the main parking area but recommends available shuttle buses from designated Magelang and Yogyakarta points to minimise traffic delays. Shuttle seats are limited. Police and transport authorities expect road closures around the race, so do not assume normal vehicle access to the precinct. Baggage deposit is provided inside the village.

Eligibility and race-day rules

The published minimum ages on race day are 18 for the marathon, 16 for the half marathon and 14 for the 10K. An official bib must be visible on the front of the runner's clothing, including when entering the race village. Bib transfers, resale and participation under another entrant's number are prohibited. Runners completing their distance within the published limits receive a finisher medal; eligible marathon finishers also receive the marathon finisher T-shirt. Course refreshment points can supply water, isotonic drinks and fruit.

Race-pack collection

The organiser will issue collection dates, hours and location through official email and the My Borobudur Marathon system. No verified 2026 pickup timetable is available yet. Take your entry confirmation and proof of identity. Race packs cannot be mailed or collected on race day. Officially authorised representative collection is available through the organiser's online delegation process.

2026 shuttle service and decade medal

The organiser's 2026 shuttle service offers return transport from Artos Mall, Magelang (IDR 40,000), and from TVRI Yogyakarta or the Panembahan Senopati east/central parking areas (IDR 60,000). Registered runners buy tickets through the My Borobudur Marathon app. Published departure windows are about 02:00–02:30 WIB from Yogyakarta and 02:30–02:45 WIB from Magelang; check the ticket and organiser's latest instructions carefully because the Yogyakarta FAQ also specifies an 02:15 last bus. Purchased shuttle tickets must be exchanged for a wristband during race-pack collection, and the wristband must be worn for bus access.

To celebrate ten editions, the organiser offers a special 1 Decade Medal to eligible runners who have successfully completed Borobudur Marathon five times between 2017 and 2026. The committee checks historical participation for irregularities and makes final eligibility decisions.
