Event Detail

Kawasaki Tama River Marathon 2026 takes place on Sunday 15 November at Uvance Todoroki Stadium by Fujitsu in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture. The municipal running festival uses a largely flat course on the Tama River embankment, starting and finishing inside the athletics stadium. Kawasaki City, the city education board and the sports association organise the event, which combines competitive road races with accessible family activities.

The half marathon starts at 9:15 am Japan time, with a maximum of 3,500 entrants and a 2-hour-48-minute timing limit. The 10 km individual and two-person pair races start at 9:30 am and share 2,500 participant places. A wheelchair 1 km begins at 9:40 am, the 3 km at 11:20 am, and approximately 1 km family runs from 12:05 pm. The organiser places timed checkpoints along the half-marathon course at about 14, 17 and 18.5 km. Pacemakers are scheduled for the half marathon and 10 km.

General registration opened on 15 July and closed on 13 September 2026 after an extension. Published fees are JPY 5,750 for the half marathon, JPY 5,250 for adult 10 km, JPY 3,750 for adult 3 km and JPY 5,000 per family group. Age-specific student rates are also available; the wheelchair 1 km is free. All entrants are offered a commemorative event T-shirt. Race bibs and timing chips are posted in advance, and finishers can obtain digital certificates.

The stadium is approximately 15 minutes' walk from Musashi-Nakahara or Shin-Maruko railway stations, and buses also connect from Musashi-Kosugi and Mizonokuchi. Parking is limited, so public transport is recommended. Participants should check current event instructions for any programme adjustments and travel restrictions.
