Penang Ferry Run 2026

Penang Ferry Run 2026 brings a 5K community run and a competitive 10K to George Town's waterfront on Sunday, 29 November. The inaugural event is centred on the Penang Ferry Museum at Pengkalan Weld (Weld Quay), celebrating the island's historic ferry heritage and inviting runners to experience the coastal and old-town setting on foot.

Race morning

• 10K: Flag-off at 06:45 Malaysia time.
• 5K: Flag-off at 07:00 Malaysia time.
• Both distances use the Penang Ferry Museum precinct as the advertised start and finish.
• The organiser notes that published route maps remain subject to authority approval and may be revised; check the latest event instructions before race day.

Entries and race preparation

The official registration partner, Howei, advertises an entry closing date of 31 October 2026, subject to places remaining available. Its event page displays an overall entry-fee range of RM38–RM65; entrants should confirm the applicable category, age division and final charge at checkout rather than assume the endpoints apply to every entry.

Race-kit collection takes place at Penang Ferry Museum on Saturday, 28 November, from 10:00 to 18:00 MYT. The event promotes distance-specific jerseys and finisher medals, with additional competitive podium awards. The organiser states that the published top-five podium awards are restricted to Malaysian winners.

This first-edition event is positioned as both a heritage celebration and an accessible morning of running in George Town. Consult the organiser's official Howei registration and event page for any final route changes, remaining places and race-day notices.
