Bangsaen21 2026

Bangsaen21 2026, Thailand's World Athletics Platinum Label half marathon, takes place on Sunday 20 December 2026 beside Bang Saen Beach in Chon Buri. This is a dedicated 21.0975 km road race, with a reported field of approximately 12,000 entrants, not a mixed-distance fun-run programme. The start and finish are on Bangsaen Sai 1 Road, outside Bangsaen Heritage Hotel.

Course and conditions

The event is known for its lively coastal setting around Bang Saen and the Khao Sam Muk area. The detailed 2026 course and road-closure maps have not yet been independently confirmed. Some online route guides show the organiser's older, May 2024 course; runners must not assume that the earlier turning points, aid-station positions, roads or closures will be identical in December 2026. Follow the organiser's final Course Information and transport notices, particularly if arriving by car before dawn.

Three start waves and mandatory checkpoints

Official 2026 race-day timings are in Thailand local time (ICT, UTC+7):

• 04:15: Wave A, including elite and faster starting blocks.
• 04:30: Wave B.
• 04:45: Wave C; all cut-offs are measured from this final-wave gun time.
• 05:00: Start gate closes. No late access after this time.
• 06:30: 10 km checkpoint closes.
• 07:16: 15 km checkpoint closes.
• 08:03: 20 km checkpoint closes.
• 08:15: Finish line closes.

The advertised 3-hour-30-minute limit is calculated from Wave C's 04:45 start, not from each athlete's chip start. Wave A and B runners have more clock time until the same fixed finish closure. Missing an intermediate cut-off may mean removal from the course and no official finishing time or finisher medal. Plan your pace to clear every checkpoint, especially 20 km.

Registration and eligibility

Regular 2026 applications are closed. The published standard half-marathon entry fee was THB 2,000, plus a THB 50 payment/system charge. The organiser also offered eligibility-dependent loyalty, senior, international, late-entry, charity and VIP programmes at different rates; they are not interchangeable general-entry prices. Do not assume a late or charity entry remains available without confirmation on the official Bangsaen21 website.

Expo, bibs and identification

Race-kit collection is in person at Bangsaen Heritage Convention Centre, at the Bangsaen Heritage Hotel, on Friday 18 December (12:00–20:00) or Saturday 19 December (11:00–19:00). The organiser's current-edition guidance requires the participant's 2026 Runner Card and original identification for a face-identity check. A wristband is issued with the bib and must remain on throughout the race; runners without the required bib and wristband may be disqualified. No third-party collection or race-morning bib collection is offered under those instructions. Confirm the final documentation and any concessions with the organiser before travel.

Race-morning bag-drop services are advertised from 02:00. The organiser also describes a post-event race-kit mailing procedure for runners who cannot attend, with domestic-shipping terms and deadlines; this is not a substitution or ticket transfer. Entrants should check the official Unable To Take Part policy for the exact procedure and any charges. Race-week parking, shuttle and road-closure plans may be updated closer to race day.
