Event Detail
Bitcoin Half Marathon 2026 returns to Chiang Mai for its second edition, bringing together a city road race, the Yi Peng festival period and an international Bitcoin community. The organiser reports that the inaugural event drew about 3,000 runners from 32 countries and territories. In 2026, the race is again centred on Rot Fai Park and forms part of a wider three-day Bitcoin Festival programme in Chiang Mai.
The 21.1K, 10K and 5K races all start and finish at Rot Fai Park. The official event page describes the route as running through historic Chiang Mai and its old walled city, while the current course map also shows the longer route extending west through the central-city corridor toward the MAYA and Chiang Mai University area before returning to the railway-park side of town. The half marathon starts at 04:00, with 10K and 5K runners starting at 05:00. Published cut-offs are 07:30 for the half marathon, 07:00 for the 10K and 06:20 for the 5K.
Race weekend is designed as more than a single start-line session. Important race-pack collection discrepancy: The event brand's online schedule advertises an expo and collection on 20–21 November, but the official registration administrator, JOG&JOY, specifically instructs all entrants to collect their bib and kit at Rot Fai Park on Saturday 21 November only, 10:00–18:00. JOG&JOY requires an ID card or passport; authorised proxy collection requires identification for both people. Confirm the final arrangements directly with JOG&JOY before travelling on Friday 20 November. The Bitcoin Festival is advertised from 20 to 22 November. Race-day support includes pacers, sweepers and cheer teams, while the 5K also includes a Fancy Run competition.
The event is organised within Chiang Mai's 730th-anniversary year and is intentionally timed around Yi Peng, when the city is particularly busy with visitors and festival activity. Runners travelling from outside Chiang Mai should therefore allow extra time for transport and accommodation planning. The organiser publishes a substantial age-group prize programme for the half marathon and 10K, together with a separate Fancy Run prize category, while standard participant support includes post-race breakfast, accident insurance and event access.
Entry pricing and registration
JOG&JOY's 2026 organiser instructions specify a regular-fee window through 31 October and a higher late-registration tier from 1–10 November. Both are shown in the race-category cards. The published window is not proof that bibs are still available; check the official registration portal for current capacity.
Race Pack Information
Conflicting organiser information: event-brand site lists 20-21 Nov, but official entry administrator JOG&JOY states ALL entrants must collect on Saturday 21 Nov 2026, 10:00–18:00, Rot Fai Park. Bring passport or ID; proxies need ID for both. Confirm final advice before travelling.
