Event Detail

Chombueng Marathon 2027 marks the 40th edition of one of Thailand's longest-running community road races. The event grew from a small 10K organised in 1985 by instructors at what was then Chombueng Village Institute, when fewer than 100 runners took part. A half marathon was added in 1989 and the full 42.195 km marathon followed in 1999, helping turn the third weekend of January into a long-standing running tradition in Ratchaburi.

The 2027 race is based at Muban Chombueng Rajabhat University and uses the natural roads around Chom Bueng district. The marathon starts at 03:00 and has a seven-hour time limit, the half marathon begins at 05:00 with a four-hour limit, and the 10K Mini Marathon starts at 06:00 with a 2 hour 30 minute limit. The staggered early-morning programme gets the longest-distance runners well under way before the day becomes hotter.

Chombueng is known for the community atmosphere around race weekend as much as the racing itself. The event's own history describes the pre-race gathering as part of the tradition, reflecting the fact that many runners travel to the district and stay overnight. Muban Chombueng Rajabhat University has positioned the 40th edition as a milestone linking sport, health, local identity and community participation, with the anniversary centred on 40 years of routes, memories and friendship.

Race-pack collection at the race expo is offered on both 15 and 16 January 2027, from 10:00 to 18:00 Thailand time each day, at no additional charge. The official booking platform also offers domestic EMS delivery for THB 90 or a THB 100 domestic mail option for entrants who will not attend. Its published processing fee is 8% in addition to the displayed entry prices. Standard entry includes distance-specific race apparel and finisher items, while the registration platform also lists free entry for runners aged 70 and over and discounted para-athlete categories, subject to identity verification. Registration opened nationally on 25 September 2026. Runners should re-check the organiser and registration pages before travelling, as final course maps, operational notices and any late race-week instructions may still be updated.
