Phuket's 13th Thanyapura Trail Run

The 13th edition of the Thanyapura Trail Run brings runners to the Thanyapura Sports & Health Resort in Thalang for a morning of off-road racing. Held since 2013, the event combines recreational sport with awareness of the biodiversity of the nearby Khao Phra Thaeo Non-Hunting Area. The organisers highlight wildlife and plant conservation efforts, including the 'Returning Gibbons to the Wild' initiative, as part of the event's wider purpose.

The three race options are 15 km, 10 km and 5 km, all on Sunday 29 November 2026. The activity area opens at 5:30 am, followed by a 6:30 am warm-up. The 15 km starts at 7:00 am, 10 km at 7:15 am, and 5 km at 7:30 am, all Phuket local time. Importantly, the organiser states that no new starters will be admitted after 7:35 am. All distances share an 11:00 am finish cut-off. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 9:30 am, with the event closing at noon; the organiser may revise the programme.

Registration and race-pack collection

The standard registration prices listed through 31 October are THB 900 for 15 km, THB 800 for 10 km and THB 700 for 5 km. Higher late prices are advertised for 1–15 November. Optional sports-club day-pass and two-night resort packages are also available on the official registration page. Check live entry conditions before making travel arrangements.

Collect your race pack and visit the sports expo at Thanyapura on Saturday 28 November, 9:00 am–6:00 pm. Bring the confirmation barcode or tracking number together with a national ID card or passport. Authorised proxy collection is possible, but requires the extra identification documents detailed in the race instructions.

Entry rules and late-fee reminder

The official registration partner advertises a late-entry period from 1–15 November 2026. For that period, standard race-only entries rise to THB 1,000 (15 km), THB 900 (10 km) and THB 800 (5 km), compared with the current regular prices in the race-category cards. Registration information can be amended only until 15 November. Entrants aged 13–17 may enter the 5 km category only and must arrange the required parental consent for race-pack collection on 28 November. Tickets and sports-club day passes are non-refundable; optional club passes are valid only on race day, 29 November.

Preparing for the route

This is a trail event, not a flat road race. Expect off-road footing and potentially hot and humid conditions in Phuket. Review the organiser's latest recommended and mandatory gear guidance, category eligibility, course information and safety rules. Arrive well ahead of the start because of the strict late-arrival policy. Thanyapura itself is the event base, making the resort an option for runners travelling to the island.

Optional accommodation package and runner preparation

The organiser-linked 2026 registration page also advertises a THB 6,000 hotel package covering two nights at Thanyapura (28–30 November 2026) plus race entries for two runners, who may choose from the 5K, 10K or 15K. The promotional package also offers use of sports facilities, including the pool, athletics track, fitness centre and hot/cold recovery facilities. This is an optional two-person accommodation deal, not the standard individual entry price; confirm that the package remains available before booking. An optional single-runner Sports Club Day Pass is also listed alongside each distance, valid 29 November only.

The organiser recommends taking a charged mobile phone, approximately 1 litre of drinking water, a whistle, a torch, a small first-aid kit and snacks for trail conditions. Its posted race terms say registration details may be amended only through 15 November and tickets and day passes are non-refundable. If another person collects your bib on 28 November, they must present the booking barcode, their own ID/passport and a copy of the registered runner's ID/passport.
