The Yala Marathon 2027 returns on Sunday 25 July 2027, according to its official seventh-edition promotional artwork. The event is based at Sanam Chang Phueak, the Chang Phueak ceremonial ground in Yala, southern Thailand, and forms one of the province's best-established annual road-running gatherings.
The race
The 2027 programme lists a 42.195 km full marathon, 21.1 km half marathon, 10.5 km mini marathon and 5 km fun run. Together these options attract competitive distance runners and people joining a more accessible community event. The mini marathon is advertised as 10.5 km. The 2027 courses, precise start line, flag-off timetable and cut-offs have not yet been published.
Yala Marathon has developed a significant participation following. An official provincial report recorded 6,442 registered runners in 2025, including 441 marathon entrants, 1,186 half-marathon entrants, 1,521 mini-marathon entrants and 3,294 fun-run entrants. This is historic context, not a forecast for 2027. The previous edition was organised by Yala City Municipality to promote health, bring communities together and introduce visitors to the city. Residents lined past routes with encouragement, performances and local displays, but the details of this year's entertainment and route should not be assumed from past reports.
Planning your visit
The ceremonial ground in Sateng, Mueang Yala, is an established civic park and the named event location. If travelling, check accommodation and arrival options before race weekend and be aware of official advice for southern Thailand. Hot and humid conditions are possible; prepare sensibly but consult the official runner briefing once published. Arrive allowing time for any road restrictions and race-pack collection details, which remain unannounced.
Registration opening, fees, category start times, age rules, cut-offs, confirmed hydration points, prizes and race-pack contents for 2027 are not yet verified. The race start time is not yet announced. All eventual race times should be checked in Thailand time (ICT, UTC+7). The promotional design shows a 2026 World Athletics Green Road Race Label, which should not be represented as confirmed 2027 certification.
