The Silva Trail Runner Free 2 Ultra is a 550-lumen headlamp built for long trail runs and overnight ultras. Silva's Free Technology integrates the power connection into the headband, reducing loose cables around the face and shoulders. Its Intelligent Light beam combines a long-range spotlight with a broad flood pattern so runners can see both the route ahead and the ground near their feet.
This Ultra package is distinct from the Trail Runner Free 2 Hybrid. It includes a rechargeable 4.0 Ah, 14.8 Wh long-distance battery as well as a Hybrid Battery Case that can accept three AAA batteries for backup. Maximum mode reaches 80 metres and runs for 4.5 to seven hours; minimum mode provides 50 lumens for 18.5 to 23.5 hours. A red rear safety light is integrated into the battery case.
The lamp weighs 145 g with its listed battery, charges by USB-C and carries an IPX5 water-resistance rating. Cold, terrain and brightness settings can affect runtime, so an emergency backup light remains sensible for remote events. The recorded US$159.99 is Silva's official US listed price for SKU 38289, checked on 23 October 2026.
