Chongqing Bishan Marathon 2026 takes place on Sunday 15 November with a simultaneous 08:00 start for marathon and half-marathon runners at Bishan District People's Square. The road-running event has a published capacity of 10,000 participants: 3,000 in the full marathon and 7,000 in the half marathon. Both courses return to the People's Square, with the full marathon extending farther along the district's roads.
The course is promoted for its park scenery. Runners travel through the Bishan urban area using Shuangxing Avenue, Daishan Avenue, Shuanglong Avenue, Yubi Road and roads around Yuquan Lake. Organiser materials highlight nearby landscaped spaces, including Fengxiang Lake Children's Park, Dongyue Sports Park and Yuquan Lake Park. Final route alignments are subject to official measurement and confirmation. The advertised relatively gentle route mixes city streets, broad avenues and green spaces.
The official regulations set six-hour and three-hour finish limits for the marathon and half marathon respectively. Chip timing is provided; competitors must reach their allocated assembly area at least 45 minutes before the start. The start closes to late arrivals 20 minutes after the gun. The organiser's plan provides water or sports drinks from 5 km onwards, additional intermediate drinking points, selected energy stations and medical support including mobile AED teams.
Registration eligibility is restricted to Chinese nationals including eligible Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan entrants. Full-marathon entrants must be at least 20 years old and show a recent marathon finish or two half-marathon finishes; half-marathon entrants must be at least 18 and provide two recent 10 km-or-longer race completion records. The organiser-linked 2026 registration portal is advertising 31 October 2026 at 23:59:59 China Standard Time (UTC+8) as the application deadline, rather than 20 October. Entries are first come, first served, with no lottery; registration can close early if the 3,000 marathon or 7,000 half-marathon places fill. As of 24 October, the portal still displayed registration as open, but runners must confirm availability at checkout.
Race packs are scheduled for collection on 13 and 14 November from 10:00 to 20:00 at the People's Square. Bring the collection message, identification and signed declaration. Race-day bag drop closes at 07:45. Runners finishing within the cut-off receive a finisher medal. Prize awards are published for individual and team categories. Chinese Athletics Association A-class certification was pending application in the published regulations, not confirmed.
