Gunung Kawi Ridge Run

Gunung Kawi Ridge Run 2026 takes runners onto the forest tracks and scenic ridgelines of East Java's Gunung Kawi highlands on Sunday, 20 December 2026. The organiser, Galanesia, confirms Lembah Indah Malang as the event venue. This is a mountain trail-running event, not a flat road race; expect changing underfoot conditions, climbing and exposed ridge sections.

Four trail-running challenges

The official programme advertises a 2.5K Kids Dash, 7K Funtrail, 15K Hill Explorer and 30K Challenger, serving children, recreational trail runners and experienced mountain athletes. The organiser's current website labels its advertised ticket prices as normal prices, rather than the earlier discounted tiers. Entrants should check their selected distance, age eligibility, course briefing and payment total on the official registration checkout before paying.

Mandatory kit and on-course safety

The published mandatory-equipment table requires a running vest or belt, snacks or energy food, a mobile phone with the GPX route, personal medicine, a waterproof or windproof outer layer, an emergency blanket, whistle and race bib for the trail categories it covers. A headlamp with spare batteries is specified for 30K. The published table specifies a minimum 1 litre hydration capacity for the longer categories, and also requires an ID card for those distances. Important organiser discrepancy: the kit table labels its middle column 12K, whereas the race categories list 15K. Treat that as an inconsistency to clarify with Galanesia rather than assuming the 15K runners are exempt from kit checks. The organiser says that mandatory equipment checks are a condition of participation; failing them may prevent a runner from starting.

Getting to Lembah Indah Malang

The organiser advertises optional IDR 150,000 per seat transport between Malang Kota Baru railway station and Lembah Indah. Its published outbound services on 19 December depart the station at 08:00, 11:00 and 13:00 WIB, arriving one hour later. Return services on 20 December leave Lembah Indah at 13:00, 15:00 and 17:00 WIB, likewise scheduled to take an hour. Book directly with the organiser and recheck seat availability and transport times before travel.

Awards and race-day checks

The official published prize tables list separate male and female awards for each distance. For 30K, first, second and third prizes are IDR 2.5 million, 2 million and 1.5 million; for 15K, IDR 1.5 million, 1 million and 750,000; for 7K, IDR 1 million, 750,000 and 500,000; and for Kids Dash, IDR 500,000, 300,000 and 200,000. Prizes are subject to the event rules and organiser confirmation.

The ticketing page currently displays an event window of 11:30–17:00 WIB on 20 December, while the existing ARC listing carries a 06:00 start inherited from an earlier placeholder. Neither source provides a reliable distance-by-distance flag-off timetable; do not rely on either time as an individual race gun time. Confirm the precise flag-off, course map, cut-offs, race-pack collection and mandatory-gear inspection schedule with the organiser before arranging travel.
