Event Detail
BCA CitraLand Marathon 2026 returns to western Surabaya on Sunday, 6 December 2026 under the theme Grit • Growth • Glory. The fifth edition brings together recreational runners and competitive athletes for five road-running categories: a 42.195 km full marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K and Ekiden team relay. The organiser expects more than 6,000 participants.
What's new in 2026
For the first time, the full marathon is being presented as one continuous 42.195 km loop, rather than repeating a smaller circuit. Organisers say the revised course takes runners along roads in the developing western Surabaya area. Detailed current-edition route maps, traffic arrangements and exact flag-off times should be checked in the final participant information. Do not rely on a timetable or fees copied from the organiser's 2025 FAQ, which still contains previous-edition material.
Event venue and timing
Organiser representatives identified Universitas Ciputra Surabaya as the event's start/finish base in 2026 media coverage, but the public 2026 registration homepage still labels the venue TBA. Confirm the final assembly point, gate access and parking arrangements with the organiser before travelling. The 06:00 WIB time shown in the ARC calendar is provisional, not an officially published category start time; the organiser's 2026 homepage currently lists all flag-off and category cut-off times as to be announced.
Eligibility and course rules
- Minimum age: 17 years on race day for the full and half marathons; 12 years for the Ekiden, 10K and 5K.
- International runners: Welcome to enter and appear in results, but only Indonesian citizens are eligible for podium places and race prizes, under the published 2026 rules.
- Timing and bibs: Wear the supplied bib and timing chip correctly. The start-line timing mat closes 10 minutes after each category's gun time. Runners must pass the course checkpoints and obey race marshals and medical staff.
- Road reopening: The organiser aims to restore normal traffic by 11:00 WIB and may enforce intermediate checkpoints and require late runners to leave the course.
- Safety: Pets, pushchairs, bicycles, skates and unauthorised companions are prohibited on the route. There will be a baggage facility at the race village; do not deposit valuables.
Registration, race packs and awards
The organiser's registration portal opened on 2 August 2026 at 16:00 WIB. Entry fees are non-refundable and bib transfers are forbidden. Each runner must collect a race pack containing identification materials, a bib, timing chip and event apparel, either personally or through an authorised representative with the required identification and collection confirmation. The final 2026 race-pack collection dates, place and times have not yet been verified, so do not use last year's collection schedule.
The 2026 event announcement describes finisher jerseys for both full- and half-marathon finishers, in addition to participant race packs. Podium awards are organised by category and eligible age division; the final allocation should be checked against the organiser's current rules.
For current registration and race-day notices, consult the official BCA CitraLand Marathon website, especially its 2026 rules and regulations. The 2026 start/finish base and course changes were also announced in local coverage of the organiser's July 2026 briefing.
